Nascar to remove toyota engines for testing
Following another dominant performance by Kyle Busch at Friday's Dollar General 300 Nationwide Series race at Chicagoland Speedway, NASCAR is stepping in and taking action.
Toyota won and finished with four of the top-five cars.
Nine engines are being removed from cars for transport to and testing at the NASCAR Research & Development Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Reports have been that the engines are coming from Toyota cars.
NASCAR is planning the test to determine if Toyota has a competitive advantage this season.
There have been at least thirteen wins in the Nationwide Series and seven wins in the Sprint Cup Series this season by Toyota-powered cars—Most of the wins by Joe Gibbs Racing.
Here's a prediction for you: Look for NASCAR to confiscate some of the engines from Sprint Cup cars tomorrow after the Lifelock.com 400. Once NASCAR figures out what advantage Toyota has over the other makes, there may be rule changes made to restore a competitive balance.

Halfway through the season and they just now notice?! It seems as though Nascar is trying to make up for Toyota's performance last year. Nascar could have just looked at their success in the truck series, and they would have known Toyota was going to improve without Nascar putting on the blinders until now. This has happened with the other makes, too. Every make has had a dominate season at some point. I guess if Honda comes in next, Nascar will want them to be "competetive", also. At least with all the makes getting a chance to be dominate, we won't have to worry about every team switching to one make like the IRL.

With all the rule changes NASCAR=IROC. So many of the bodies and engines are the same with a diff name. Lets see, neither ford nor toyota manufacture a gasoline pushrod engine...but this is stock car racing? I like to watch the racing because of the competitiveness, but with all the rules it's more like NASCAR=IROC w/WWE
