    my wife says she feels sorry for people with cars that sound like mine lol

    Today I had the wife in the car and the cut out was open. I got on it pretty good so she good hear how it sounded. she replied " sounds like u have no muffler. I feel sorry for people who drive cars like your sounds. Like they cant afford a muffler". I told her the muffler was by-passed and it sounded awesome. she just said again she felt sorry. lol

    any other of u guys get this from your wife/girlfriend ?????????

    my ex complained about mine being loud with the cut out open all the time. and i didnt have a cap to put on it so it was annoying to her all the time....til i set off a few alarms when i started it, then she laughed and thought that was funny lol

    I was at a car wash today and when I pulled in I gave it a good rev wanted to hear it inside the 2 walls. A lady was walking by and I think she almost had a heart attack lol

    I'm glad your wife has sympathy for people like me... mine fell off back in the 80's









    I love how my car sounds. Don't care what other people think though. However, my girlfriend likes it. And my roommates girlfriend likes it. And my neighbor (back home) said he used it as an alarm clock back when I left early for high school. I apologized, but he said to keep it up

    opens up the exhaust. The cap is either held on by wing nuts or electrically motored to be opened from the inside via a switch. If you get the cheap version (wingnuts) keep a fire glove in your car so you can take it off whenever you want.

    not too much I wouldn't think... Either way its not muffled... I'd say it'd be too loud to tell a different... plus in the rear you only have to buy one

    I replaced the dynomax bullet mufflers on my true duals with SLP Shotgun Resonators this weekend, it was terribly loud before, it's obnoxiously loud now. I did, however, manage to TERRIFY an NSX on saturday, that car would not come within half a mile after I threw a rev at it.
    My gf loves it, it's the 'Fun Car' as she calls it.

    a NSX is a very cool daily driver kind of car, anything can beat them just about. But they drive nice and get lots of looks, you should test drive one just to say you did. Theres a exotic dealership 30 minutes from here with Vipers/Zo6s ect, they are VERY cool about test drives and the salesman lets you go solo. First time I got to drive a C5 was from that place

    Is it overpriced for the amount of power? Undoubtedly yes. I just don't see a mid engine, 290hp, $90k exotic as a 'cool daily driver'. Would it have been challenging when I was stock? Yes. Now? No. It's just fun to scare a mid engine, 290hp, $90k exotic. Most drivers are cocky and think the price tag equals a victory. Still have yet to find someone willing to race after hearing my car that wasn't a 17yr old bone-stock GT, one time. Oh well.

    They just drive nice, and you can pick them up down here for 17-25 with lower miles. I think you'd be a fool to buy one with the impression that its going to beat anything in a race lol

    Why would you lose power with a cutout on each header?

    Wouldn't that equal true duals with no backpressure.

    I don't get it. The 327 in my '56 has headers running straight into cutouts (one on each side). Are you saying I would increase horsepower if somehow I could get both headers into one cutout?

    It might gain HP in the very top end of the RPM range.
    But under that, you will lose power.

    I have a very built LSx motor...here is a dyno graph of capped and open. I have cutouts at each header on this motor, for drag only as I am always above 4500RPM's at the track.
