Hugger Orange/W stripes- 1999 Z28 M6
My dirt bike
Back at Christmas, my ten-year-old got a Yamaha 80cc dirt bike. I haven't had one in over 27 years, but after three days of just watching him ride, I decided it was time. We ride mostly trails and woods, not MX stuff, so I set my sights on getting a Kawasaki KDX 200. I found one about eighty miles away, and bought it for a pretty good deal ($800). It needed some work, but it was mostly cosmetic, not mechanical. I put about $500 in it over the purchase price, but now this '95 model is about as good as I could ask for. I thought I posted this before, but I can't find it.
As purchased:
After changing a lot of plastic, exhaust, etc:
Since those last photos, I have changed the forks and front tire, added radiator guards/bracket, a skid plate, and some frame guards. I still have a newer swing arm and shock assembly to install. The bike is exactly suited for our kind of area. Now if I can keep from breaking an almost 46 year old body!Last edited by jad628; 04-26-2011 at 04:42 AM.

What happens is that in your body you have a micro organism that eats your bone then 10+ bone builders follow behind it at the age of 24. After 30 these bone builders start depleting but the guy that is eating your bones is still going strong.
Do you see where I am going by the age of 40 1 bone eater to 6-7 bone builders after 50 expect less. If your planning to ride this ride it soon.

Groovy man! I am in the process of getting ready to work on my bike. Its a Yamaha DT 175 with 2909 miles on it. Hasnt been registered since 1983.....lol It runs great but have some wiring issues and the forks are tweaked but have a new set ready to go on.
Glad you have a sweet little bike to ride with your boy. Lots of memories in the works for you guys.
