My day
So I meet a guy to look at a 2003 mustang gt, from the craigslist ad it seemed like a cool car.
it was True Blue, with black cloth interior and a 5spd 86k for 8500
So I meet the guy to look at it, now up to this point the guy has been really cool.
When I pull up, the car is filthy, the front clip is chipped all to hell, lots of scratches on the car.
I ask him if I can test drive it.
he says "well, I'll be going with you" in an ass hole tone, like I had intentions of fucking up his car
he says "well, i don't know.. Can you even drive a standard?
I'm thinking, now why would I look at a car, or ask to test drive a car, that had a 5 speed if I can't drive a standard?
so anyway, I ask him to pop the hood. Engine bays needs some serious tlc, serious grime, with dust and dirt on top of the grime.
valve covers were covered in oil, belt was chewed to pieces.
Then, after he has told me over, and over "oh it's all stock" it has a shitty ass cai, and rusty headers.
He keeps making the claim of how he has all the receipts where it was worked on, and it used all synthetic fluids. [synthetic doesn't mean crap to me.]
I ask him what all he has documented, and he pulls out, 1 receipt for an oil change like 1500 miles ago, and the used car window sticker.
I check the oil and it's half a quart low, and I point this out to him.
He gets all butthurt, and goes on about how there are ZERO problems with HIS CAR, and how camaro's had all kinds of problems.
I'm like, wow what a dick. He's just mad because the car I drove to look at his is way better than the piece of crap he's selling.
then I am trying to leave without being a jerk, so I say "well I'll go talk to my bank, and see what they sa-"
before I finish he says "well the price is non-negotiable, i want the whole 85"
I say ok well I'll let you know, and he says "Don't you want to drive it?"
I said "maybe after I talk to the bank"
then he was trying to be nice.
TOO LATE!!!
I know if I was selling a sports car, I would make sure the engine bay was clean, and that the car itself was also.
And another way to improve sales is by not being an asshole to the person buying it, no one is going to buy a car by just taking your word for it.
So Getzen's Tips For Making a quick sale
1- Don't Be A Jerk
2- Clean the Vehicle Before Showing
3- If you don't know what you're talking about, don't act like you do
4- Don't call a modified, beat down car. Very Clean, and Bone Stock
I should have expected this from a Mustang guy.

You went south when you included the word "craigslist" in the first sentence.
