My cd player on my pc dont work:(

It plays but there is on sound i already checked my connection is there a cd player i can download off the internet to work??i have windows 98

Windows Media player isn't playing it?

Try bringing up your volume control screen: Start > Programs > Accessories > Entertainment > Volume control (or something along those lines)

Make sure that the CD Player volume is not low (or muted). If it's not showing, check the "Options" > "Properties" screen.

That's the quickest place to start.
