Moving from salt lake to phoenix
Hey everybody, I finally found a use for this aag area. I have to help my girl move form Salt Lake to Phoenix. This is the largest group of people that I have access to, so I am hoping for some help. The timeframe for moving is early to middle August. I have looked at uhaul and penske, and its gonna cost a grand just to rent a truck. I am looking at the 26 foot trucks. I'm gonna need one this big. Movers charge even more. I am looking for ideas, or maybe even someone who needs a large trailer moved during this time. I sold my big truck to pay bills last year, so I only have the ws6, and my girls minivan. Maybe someone who has control over a uhaul location, or such, and can swing me a good deal. I leave myself at your guy's mercy, and I thank you in advance. let the ideas flow.

Learn from my past mistakes just leave her there. Or wait until winter to move her i'm sure uhaul has cheaper rates then.

Any rental places out there that rent trucks, vans, and trailers? We've got one local here in PA that will rent you a truck, van and a trailer if need be.
What about renting two smaller trucks? I guess you might save on the rentals, but eat it up in gas. Lose/lose either way. Scratch that.
Sell all your stuff, move to Phx, buy second hand clothes and live like hobos for a while?

i'll check into local rentals. thanks. maybe a trailer for a weekend. I have a 5x12, but that's not big enough to justify that long of a distance. And its not covered.

Its an option and something worth looking into. You might not find a trailer big enough to amount to the space a 26' U-Haul would, however, sometimes you gotta do a little re-consideration as to what really HAS to go. Pack the truck, trailer, minivan and fbody with everything you can, and if a 2nd trip isnt in order, ditch what you have to? What about family road-trippin' it down in a few months? Its still summer, so maybe some of the cool-weather clothes/gear can stay behind, etc. She have her own furniture? You have your own in PHX? Leave hers behind until some family can either sell it off for her, or bring it along etc. Sometimes it takes a little sacrifice to be economical and practical.
