Monte Carlo SS Idea/Project
I got an idea today. Take a 03 Monte Carlo SS, convert it to RWD and drop an LS series motor into it. That would be sick. It would be such a pain in the ass but it would rule. If those cars were RWD I would have one.

That would be pretty bad ass. I kinda like those gen monte's except for the fact that even the SS is a V6 and makes "just ok" power.

I have an 87 SS. Its slow with the stock 305. The 305 block just cracked on me. My first car was a 2000 Impala (almost the same as the Monte), had a 3.8 V6, it moved but was no V8. But in 2006 Chevy put a 5.3l v8 w/ 303 hp in the Monte but still FWD. Now they dont make it anymore. I want to build a RWD LS1 03 Monte SS!!

84-88 SS Monte is not a bad idea for a race car..... I've been trying to decide what kind of car to buy for a drag race car... It's getting to hard to find a decent 67-69 camaros. I considered an 85-90 IROC... but hey, an SS Monte isn't a bad idea.........
Hmmm..... 87 SS Monte w/ 468 BBC, turbo 350 = 10.50 qtr mile car.... hmmmm..........
MWA - HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA !!!!!

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
IMHO, those newer Monte's (like the OP showed) have one of the ugliest tail end treatments I've ever seen on a car.

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
Years ago gm did that exact thing. It was the first gen of the newer monte carlo. LS engine and solid axle. I threw out my old super chevy magazines, I know I had the one with pics in it.

i know for a fact, that chevy put v8's and made rwd montes in 95 when they came out with that body style...my parents were looking at one that was brand new...it was a dealer promo. i dont know much about i but do remember the salesman saying it was v8 and rwd. just a handful were made
