I hate this game, I always win, wife is always pissed at me for winning, kids hate cause I win.

Even when everyone teams up and I still beat them

My siblings and I are SUPER competitive and it's hilarious when we all get going on a game, because eventually three of us have to lose. Ask my wife, she has learned to lose graciously over the years. She recently had a talk with my brother's new gf to explain to her that she will never win anything again

Risk is way more cut throat. Used to play when I was in the Army. All players put $XX (usually $20 or more) with a winner takes all strategy.

We still do the family Risk game after Christmas dinner. My nephews are now in their mid to late 30's so we've been doing this for some time (decades).

I always liked playing Monopoly. Started my son playing when he was very small. At the age of 5 he could count change back from his head better than most adults with a calculator. I have taught him all or most of my stragtegies. Not that he is 14 and knows how to play he wins more often than he used too. but games normally take hours for us to get through.

Never said I hate winning, it's my family that hates me winning . It's not just this game, Uno, Risk, Trimino's, Dominoes, cards....I don't cheat, just that I'm lucky as hell when I roll the dice. I seem to always get the right properties and I always go for hotels as quickly as I can...

But winning THE WORLD is soo much more satisfying than winning Boardwalk and Park Place.

Regarding Monopoly, taking and developing the red properties is a game winning strategy as statistically more folks land there.

Played last night. Got my butt kicked. Can I change my vote?

Everyone except me and my oldest son either went to bed early or was not home. So we decided to play. He was very lucky with the dice and I was not. With in just a few times of going around the board, he had Boardwalk, Park Place, both utilities, 2 railroads, had me blocked from getting any monopolies, and I was just about broke from paying fines and getting out of jail. Well actually he had Jabba's Palace, . . . We were playing the Star Wars Sith edition but I can't remember what everything is called in it.

I'm a big fan of the old school games. If you want to teach a kid about strategy sit down and play checkers with them. My wife refuses to play pretty much any type of board game anymore. I'm not a gracious winner. We used to play yahtzee a lot but she finally got tired of the harassment. I told her " If you want me to stop then win." Evidently I also suck as a motivator.
