Thumbs up Met one of the fathers.

I was at Bestbuy this morning waiting for my car's alarm to get fixed (blown fuse) when a guy sitting in the waiting area starts to ask me about my car. He said it looks in great condition and asked what year it was, I told thanks and it's an 2002. He then states he worked for GM for 20 years and was one of the lead designers for the third and fouth gen f-bodies. Needless to say we talked about firebirds for the next hour, he was perty cool guy. Thought what a small world it is to be sitting next to the man who designed the sexyest car ever made! Just thought I share.

I could write a few pages worth but who would read it, one of the things I thought was cool was the story about the Ws6 hood. He said he always thought the TA needed something more up front to balance out the car, because the wing was so big at the rear. He said he was up one night reading a car magazine when he a picture of a concept car someone came up with for the new 98+ body style (a readers pic). He said he thought it was perfit, exactly what the Ws6 needed to stand out. Another thing which I think I have heard before, the fouth gen frames are the same as the third gens. If you don't believe me then !! lol

Sorry to disappoint ya but third and 4th gen frames aren't that similar. There are similarities but I'd never call them the same

when did 3rd and 4th gens come with frames....? if any one says they did a frame off restoration with a 3rd or 4th gen. they deserve a kick in the sac

isnt that the point of unibody construction. if you want to see a frame look at a corvette.

The F body was always a unibody

True. But from afar you wouldnt notice any differences besides the stock rims. The OP has aftermarket rims anyway.

We owe a lot to a couple of guys at GM that got the LS1 engine in the Camaros and Firebirds. GM had a cash cow in the Vettes and they snuck it in the Camaros and Firebirds.

They've always used Vette engines in the F Bodies. LT1s, TPIs, etc.
