Memphis Motorsports park closed

It was announced today the memphis motor sports park closed down for good ( unless of course eventually someone buys it ) but that sucks that means no more test and tune or Super chevy show or the lsx show or the nhra shows im bummed

Reminds me of the Los Angeles area circa mid 70's to mid-80's. All the tracks closed down due to development.

Yea, they don't want us to street race, they want people to go to the tracks. If tracks keep close due to what ever reason. What do they expect, me to drive 3-5 hours or more? There's a drag strip an hour away, but I don't like drag racing.

It's rediculous how some of these popular tracks are closing down. Where are we supposed to go to have fun even if we are in the mood to race?

thats the part I dont get when ever i went out there it was always packed it didnt seem like a lack of attendence was the problem

Memphis went down hill when dover took them over. that was the beginning of the end and a lot of people saw it happening. They closed the dirt track that stayed packed every friday night to add parking for a shitty paved oval that was used 3 times a year. They didnt promote any events at the drag strip and jacked prices up. Hopefully someone will buy the track that actually wants it to succeed maybe even put in another dirt track. But if I had to bet on it id say it will end up just like Lakeland. http://lakelandraceway.com/
