That's really surprising. Why would they send him inside their own division? Maybe they're just hoping he only plays one year there and then leaves. I have yet to understand why he's getting the boot out of there anyway. Kolb is unproven, and McNabb has won so many games for them.

Yeah, me too. If I hadn't checked this site, I wouldn't have found out until tomorrow.

I hope I don't check tomorrow and find out that the report was wrong.

I don't even like McNabb that much, but he is a major upgrade over the blase Jason Campbell. (Trade him to whatever desperate team will offer a pick.) The team already had a decent amount of talent. Now it has a real QB. Redskins back to the playoffs this year.

wow....this was out of left field for me. I never even considered that due to how high the skins were in the draft. It'll be good for the skins though and was a good trade to make for them.

Keep in mind that the Redskins didn't give up a first round pick. So even if McNabb bombs, the team probably hasn't lost out on a future star. I expect the Skins to use the first pick on a QB for McNabb to mentor. Also, it wouldn't surprise me if Campbell somehow is used to affect where the Redskins pick early on day 1.

Another thing - a real QB is a selling point to free agents. Too many have spurned the Redskins so far, but the remaining ones (and those cut between now and the preseason) will be more eager to take Dan Snyder's money and maybe the Redskins will be more aggressive due to the realistic playoff chance.

I doubt it, I am 95% sure they just signed him to a new contract as well. Bench and headset it is for him.

He was tendered an offer. I don't think he ever signed a contract.

And now that the Skins have upgraded the position, on draft day or later, some lousy team likely will get desperate and trade for Campbell.

The Redskins seem to think Rex Grossman is an adequate back-up. I don't, but I am so sick of Campbell that I wouldn't mind them taking that risk. Maybe the high-rated QB the Skins presumably draft would be able to step in should McNabb get hurt and Grossman stink.

#4, I believe. If the Redskins try to keep Campbell, he might refuse to report.

Skins have the 4th overall pick. They really need to take one of the 3 OT with that pick, their line is a bigger problem than Grossman/Campbell.
