getting an mba should be a decision you make based off of your career goals.

A college degree/MBA/etc doesn't guarantee anyone a high paying job.

I think each situation is unique, and a lot of times it's being at the right place at the right time, and 'who you know', not 'what you know'.

Thats a tough a call. From the people I've meet they have all said its worth it, regardless of the pay benefits. I think more education the better and if I could, I would rather be in school. I personally love learning even though I'm not very good at it. ha ha

Personally, rather than just 'who you know', I believe it is 'who you know that knows you know what you know.'

I know Bob Smith. Bob is a cool guy. But I wouldn't hire Bob because he is a farking dipshit.

Folks that earned their undergrad (note I said EARNED) and worked for a few years in their chosen career field....then go get their MBA are worth a shitload more than somebody who just went to school for 6 years. More as defined in the real world is $100K more.

It depends on the job you want.

For example, you might be going for that construction worker job. Sure, that MBA looks nice and pretty on your application, but if you can't dig a hole like José over there, you probably won't get the job. Try justifying your student loan debt now, Mr. Embeay.

How would the employer know if you can't dig a hole like Jose? Would they have you dig a hole to prove it during the interview?
