Man...I'm bored.
Work is not challenging or fun anymore. The GTO hasn't been driven in a couple weeks and have zero interest in driving -or- modding it. Gaming on the PC or PS3 or 360 nearly puts me to sleep. TV sucks. No energy or will to work out or exercise. No interest in putting the boat in the water and doing some fishing or just cruising. It's harder and harder to get friends together because of family and work commitments that everyone has (kids are starting T-ball, etc).
I'm seriously wondering if I'm going through a bit of a funk/depression since all the things that used to bring me joy or was fun just don't do it anymore. Maybe I just need a change of pace or maybe I'm going through a bit of an early midlife crisis. I'm not sad or moody or anything like that, just...bored with all the things that used to interest me. Despite being up at 230 AM, I'm not having trouble sleeping (I'm about to have to go to work in just a bit).
Maybe it's just the time of the year. I'm jonesing BAD for football season to roll around. It's too freaking hot to do anything outside for more than an hour or so at a time.
I feel like I need a new challenge. SOMETHING new. Anything. Seems like everything is now routine and on autopilot.
Anyone else go through these funks? What did you do to snap out of it?

Fuck that sucks... I dont know what to say. Shit try something new something you've never done before. Try to find a new hobby. Try some new sex positions or places.

I think everyone goes through that. Some people call it being in a rut...... I call it being in the groove. Just have to roll with it and self motivate. It'll pass.

2001 3.8 Black - sold- 2000 SS Black M6
go drive fast...lol....flip off a cop and run, sumthin.
But yeah, I know exactly how you feel. thats when you just try something new. Go to a restaurant you've never tried. Drive to a diff part of town. take a little vacation. you and your wife (i presume you have one) can go on a cruise for less than $1200. From Mobile the drive to Galveston isnt insane.
Hell, from Mobile, Go visit Joshie in Kentucky....Him and his redneck friends will entertain you. Go to PA for Spazapalooza next weekend.

i know exactly how you feel, you will come back around, sometimes you just need a break, i was like that for a couple of months. I was not depressed or anything, i just wanted to be utterly lazy. Now i am back in full swing!

I'm a year younger than you and go through this sometimes myself. The sollution for me is lots and lots of hobbles and I mean lots. I've said this before to others here but I do everything form building black powder canons to professional R/C cars and trucks. I find that blowing stuff up is good for breaking the funk too. Just gotta find something that fires up the imagination again. R/C air craft that you build one stick @ a time can be fun. Go pick up a stick kit for a P-51 mustang (WWII fighter). Built one myself once with like 48 inch wing span huge plane. I do model railroading too. Try learning something new. If you have a shop/garage see if there's something there to "tinker" with. Hell tinker with the wife, or gf lol.... Hurassing my wife and kid is a staple for me. Makes me feel good to make others laugh... Best not to sit and feel down about feeling down. Just some thoughts good luck and chin up dude!

IDK what to tell you Tide, I had been that way for well over 2 years. Almost nothing made me happy.
Recently I took a vacation and then a week or two later (currently) I've felt a lot better. Last time I felt normal was like '05.
IDK what it is, but nothing impresses me anymore, nothing makes me as happy as it once did, i felt like i've done everything and I haven't.
I should go to Europe or something. I do feel alot better though, so i will not complain.

Ya, I drove 4 hours to Kearney, and I felt like I was right at home. I love the smell of burning rubber and watching a '69 camaro spool it's turbo and lift the wheels, then pull a 7 second 1/4 mile...ahh that was fun...
We got an f-body meeting tomorrow, so i should feel at home again.
Everyone enjoy the weekend...

I've been like this for a while, the exception being that i'm only happy working on stuff/riding riding dirtbike. Cruising in my truck and getting complimented on it makes me happy too.

Dont drink any alcohol for 1 week.
Smoke a joint everyday. Mebbe three or four a day.
You'll feel better about a lot of things.

Phantom Black Metallic- 2004 GTO M6
I look at my keys and hop in the goat and go out for a drive. If a destination doesn't come to mind, then I just drive around. I too have been in a funk, but with my job situation. I look at the GTO and I forget my problems.
