Have cell phones too, hardly use the home phone and it would be nice to still keep the home phone just in case!

Call quality is hit or miss.

Sometimes it's OK and then other times it drops segments of the conversation to the point of being impossible to understand what is being said.

Make sure you have fast internet.

I have set it up a few times for clients.

The basic requirements are that you really should dedicate an old computer for it because the software is fairly intensive. Put a UPS on it. Exclude cetain files from virus checking. Don't use the computer for anything else.

I have seen absolutely zero issues with clarity or performance provided you have enough bandwidth and don't use the computer for anything else, and... Everything is properly configured...
