Mad......let the mods begin
Going down the interstate the other night I run up on a Eclipse and a Honda racing. So I catch up to them and pull up beside the Eclipse and give a few revs and we go from a 40 mph roll. I get him by 3 cars right off and as I hit into overdrive he pulls back up next to me @ 110 mph. Had to shut it down for approaching traffic. Really ticked me off. He had a turbo I am sure and probally the giggle juice and other mods.
I have stayed away from mods but thats the last straw.
Lid of course will be first. Looking for suggestions on what mods to go with. Also how much hp can my stock tranny and rear end hold up.
I will be spending around 2k total on my mods.
How much hp can I expect to get for 2k ?

My life is a- Ben Stiller movie.
headers/exhaust and a damn good tune will make your car a beast-maybe a set of subframes if the money is left over. jesus, you're only on stock HP/stock parts?? Probably only getting 305 to the wheels if that...yeah, let that engine flow air better [in and out] and you'll be happy.

cam will cost you more money. any headers really. Stainless steel are corrosion-free and cost between 700-900 a set. Or you can get a set of coated or uncoated steel ones for about 300-500-they rust and might develop holes in about 6 years or so
figure a Y pipe is about 150
High-end exhaust is about 800-900 where as a more economic system is in the 400-600's [consider ebay and "parts for sale" section for some of this stuff, i've had a lot of luck with FRCBobby from Kentucky Speed-he'll get you a great price on things]
a tune will run you near 400.
You start doing "internal engine work" ie, cam/lifters-that's when you start to spend a lot of money. It's not a good idea to do the cam before the exhaust b/c the stock manifolds won't expell the air as effeciently that the cam is pushing out.

are you auto? if you are auto get a higher stall spped TQ converter and shift kit... get some slp LM exhaust and some decent headers with high flow cats and a dyno tune... that should be around you 2k and get you probably around 330 or so rwhp and 340 or so TQ...

When I first bought my car I thought man this car is stock and will scream. Now when I kick it in , its really boring slow. I took a guy from work a ride in my car. Think it bout scared him to death when I nalied it lol. I told him it seemed slow. He looked at me like I was krazy lol

Happened to me as well.
You just get used to it.
Took my sister out for a ride. That was funny. She knew what it was like before the swap...but had no idea what was coming.
Drove real tame...until I got to the on-ramp. Got on the highway doing 125....and she kinda let out a couple "Oh Shit" statements.
I let my younger brother drive it over to our parents house a month ago. I guess he came into the house shaking.
I heard this from my parents....he said it scared him.
