LS1 Miss Solved
Had a low-RPM, heavy load miss that was aggravating into a wide open throttle pop/miss.
Solution: new primary O2 sensors
(little WD40, remove the starter and use of a split-open-box end wrench, although this little jewel would have been really nice to have: http://www.harborfreight.com/3-8-eig...nch-97177.html)
Car only has 43k on it (2001 SS 6spd).
I also replaced the fuel filter, cleaned the MAF and 2 bottles of fuel system cleaner which had no effect on the run condition of the car prior to the O2 sensor change.
Also, did put in new spark plug wires and replaced 3000 mile plugs when I replaced the O2 sensors, one might argue one of these was the problem but I highly doubt it (wires and old plugs were in excellent condition however the plugs were sooty, a sign of poor mixture control from the car's PCM).
Thanks to PCMFORLESS for helping troubleshoot the car.
