Quite a few fox's with lsx motors in them. Been done plenty of times. Have a light body with a good motor, can't go wrong.

I have never been a "Ford Guy" but the fox body mustangs is a platform that I have always Respected. in my personal opinion there exterior and interior are kinda bland and ugly looking compared to the third gen camaros and firebirds. But, they are light weight, there are loads of after-market parts available for them, and there rear-ends are fairly solid. Love the fact that people are putting LSX engines in them, big slap in the face for all those 5.0 diehards that are out there. Don't see to many people putting 4.6s in there fox bodies, "i dont understand why!!!"

Bright Red- 2000 Pontiac Trans Am WS6
That's why I would do it, and actually hope it's my next project, and I am an EX Mustang guy, lol. Saw the light after playing with them for 10 or so years. (Although I still own a 91 5.0 LX hatchback) My old 89 Mustang LX coupe weighed almost a HALF TON less than my SS does...
Figuring my baby-cammed 3755# Camaro runs 11.60's at 115-116, if I stole this very mild NA engine and 4L60E tranny and transplanted it in a light Fox body, I'd probably be real close to (if not in) the 10 second range without any help from juice or boost...and probably get 25mpg's. Very unlikely that you're doing BOTH of those things with a blown stroker Ford small block.
My "plan" would be a lightweight coupe with some suspension work, a fresh 8.8 Ford rear and powered by a carbed/nitroused/Turbo 400...EASY 9's and plenty streetable.
That's pretty much what the guy who bought my old Coupe is doing...and I wish I had thought about it before selling it.
Pics are from when I still owned it and had a slapped together stock cammed NA 306 in it. I'd love to get it back and build a nice LS based combo for it.

I have been looking into tis project for a few weeks. I was considering doing it myself.
pros: light car, lots of aftermarket suport, strong engine
cons: custom fab work---(trans tunnel, trans crossmember, headers, wiring, computer shit)
its just like building a hot rod from scratch.....lotta home made ingenuity involved

once the fab work is done it's done, and your buddies will be hatin on ya hard. ls1 all the way, take the fabbin one step at a time and take your time. im sure someone sells some goodies to make the swap easier too.
