Lottery Scam
We received a letter in the mail today that was addressed to my wife's name with our address. It claimed that we won 6,800,000 pounds (UK currenency). It claimed to be from the Luki Lottery, Lottery UK International (LUKI). It included a great letter, explaining that she had won this amount. It included a ticket number, reference number, and it even had a hand signature. It of course had contact information, asked that in order to receive the lump sum, we must send the following information:
copy of photo ID
date
name
reference number
birth date
home address
phone number
occupation
Bank Name
Acct. Number
Routing Number
bank address
It even asked for a "next of kin" plus address, contact info, etc.
Anyway, we're going to talk to our lawyer tomorrow. If anybody gets something like this, whether it be e-mail, phone, mail, etc PLEASE, DO YOU'RE RESEARCH before you buy into it. Also, just a hint, ...If you "win" a lottery that you never entered, it's a scam.
It just irritated me that someone has my wife's name and our address, and is trying to steal from us. I felt like ranting. I just hope that jack@$$ scammers like this get what they deserve.

Yeah, its not the first time I've heard of these, nor will it be the last I'm sure. Few years back a lady fell for it and got jipped out of like 1800 bucks or somethin cuz she was dumb enough to wire them the money.

I get this all the time too through emails. I get just about every scam story out there. One of them said I won a sweepstakes sponsored by a catholic church outside of the U.S. Another one was from someone saying he was a marine in Iraq who found millions of dollars and needed help getting it out to a U.S. bank. I guess the one from Nigeria is already growing old and that is why we have new scam stories. Anyways, I always forward these scam emails to:
