Loosing speed at the track 106 to 99mph

I have a 99 Trans AM AUTO 3:23 gears cat back exhaust so basically stock. My first run is usually 13.5 tp 13.65 at 104.5 to 105.5 mph
2nd is 13.65 to 13.75
4th gets to 14.00 at 99mph or 14.1 at 99mph

Is it normal for our cars to loose speed and time at the track when hot laping. I've heard of cars loving the heat but mine seems to run better cold asnd it takes like an hour to cool down to get back doen to 13.74 at 104mph

Is my trranny going or worse motor getting weak ?????what are your thoughts

Maybe you ran out of gas and just coasted the last little bit.

Its pretty normal to lose a little speed after a few runs
I wouldn't think much of it

Put half and half AVGAS, with other half premium 93. Lol, you will feel the difference shit... Will run hotter though.

No, unless your talking 20 hot lapped runs, losing 6-7 MPH is not normal in any way. Post the rest of a slip ( s ). BTW, there is a drag racing section on this website. You will get better answers there, where it belongs.

You are right 6 or 7 is excessive, but its not completely out of the question

PS... AVGAS is aviation fuel, can get it at you local airport if interested. It's 100 octane low lead. Blue in color, lol. I am not responsible for any damage. Ran it a few times, it's a huge difference.

How is running a higher octane fuel going to give you any improvement when the engine is not going to make use of it?

run 94 octane Probably not gonna make a difference but you can still say "its 94 octane bitch!"

Like HiPo said, post your entire track time starting with the 60'. It will give us all a better idea of what might be happening.

I did notice a bit more pick up in the stock LS1 I had. But in the 383 Stroker we had, it helped a hell of a lot. Wanted to run it all the time, but cost to much.

No, my stepdad ran it in his sport bikes and his 383 LT1 stroker with LT4 hot cam, a number of times with no problems. In runs a bit hotter, but find. He only did half and half. But it's really just 100 Octane low lead.
