Looking for a new DD
Im looking for a new DD that i can drive year round. Been thinking about a 00-01 Audi TT 1.8T AWD. My question is does anyone have experience with them? How good are they in the snow?

always dirty- 2013 Ram 2014 Caddy ATS
Probably really good. Audi has a very nice awd system. Just be prepared for 92 octane and at most 25 mpg on the highway maybe 17 around town.

My buddy just sold his 2001. It had a million and a half problems. We're in Miami and his AWD system was shot to hell... IN MIAMI!!!! lol.

Thats alot better than the current 95 pos explorer. My main reason i guess is its still kinda sporty. The g/f has an 03 A4 quattro that does really well in the snow. I was just wondering if the TT's were the same. I can find some nice ones for inder $10k with less than 100k on them.

if you are a mechanic they are great cars.
if you are rich, they are great cars.
if you are neither rich, nor a mechanic..... keep looking.

get a cummins. 20 mpg, 6 speed, 4 wheel drive, truck capabilities, and the mods are sooooooooooo easy. it'll be faster than that beat 1.8 in no time, if it's not faster outta the fact. and it's easy to work on.

If you go diesel, get a 5.9 cummins. We bought, brand new, an 07.5 Dodge 2500 with the new 'emissions' 6.7L cummins, and its a piece, its actually at the dodge garage right now getting turbo #3 put on it. They can't stop/control their soot problems.
As far as that goes, if you go diesel, get ANY diesel pre-emissions!

in another 2 years you may have to take that thing to emission tests. . . .

Told us when we picked up the 2500 today that its gonna become 50 state mandatory to have the emissions tests. Guess i'm glad I'm up to 'par' with my dd's. Gonna have to get the 'bird fixed and sold ASAP!

yea but there's been rumors of emission tests on diesels for a long ass time now. i'm sure it's a "when" and not an "if", but it's really impossible to say how long it'll be i think we got some years left. but then again, BHO 'n company is at the helm now. . . .
