Looking for city info: Savannah, Charleston

Possibly moving to either Savannah or Charleston...

How are the school? Is private school pretty much a must?
What is the cost of living like? How much for a 2000-2200 sqft home in a nice area? Something less than 10 years old would be a perfect example.
How bad is the suburban sprawl?
Crime?

Any other information would be greatly appreciated.

Lived in Savannah for 4 years. Great place, loved it. Awesome bars, nice women, imports to murder. Crime rate is decent, not too high, but not too low. I also was there for the military so it is a little different.

Savannah is much nicer place to live in and probably cheaper and a lot newer.
Charlestown can be nice but its very crowded and very expensive.

Me too lived there for 5 years back in the 90's loved it. Great fishing, Bars, women, city itself is nice and very historic. St Pattys day rocks and it is like Marti Gras. Stationed at Hunter Army airfield at the time.

Savannah!!

Attended the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco GA a few years back. Went to Savannah on the weekends to hang out, relax, & party. Nice city, beautiful women, nice bars, and everything is clean!!
