Local Pizza Hut driver kills two would be robbers
It is against Pizza Hut's policy for employees to carry weapons or to reist a robbery, however he is a former police officer and a former deputy, not sure where, but that will have bearing on the case as well. He gave the hoodlums far more leeway than I think I would have but I was not there so I can't say what I would have done. I think that the law should protect victims like him better than it does. With the way our laws and lawyers are now Pizza Hut is between a rock and a hard place and I’m sure that is the reason for the policy

agreed the law should protect you... if someone is robbing you, or harming you, you have a right to shoot and kill them.
you should not be prosecuted and or sued in a civil case from the robbers family.

I used to deliver a long time ago for PH. In their view, they want drivers to not to put up a fight if you are rob, just hand over the money. They believe that fighting would escalate to injury or death of employees. This however doesn't mean that some drivers carried CCWs or bats in their cars. If you violated this policy you would be fired immediately. Managers were suppose to do spot checks on drivers for weapons, however every one that I had never did, didn't care, or covertly suggested getting one.
In AL, if you own your business you may open carry on your property.Last edited by SMWS6TA; 09-29-2010 at 12:59 PM.

You don't deliver pizzas if you are a laid of police officer. You get out there, and you find your fucking dog. But the puppy my friends, that was an industry.

I think he should get a medal.... If it had been here in Texas... He'd be a hero just like Joe Horn.

Oh and the fact that these companies forbid their employees from carrying weapons or from resisting robbery just makes them easy targets once word of that policy spreads around. That's a good idea too.

CHAPPELL HILL, Texas -- A Texas bank has created a new rule allowing concealed handgun owners in the building, in hopes that they’ll be a deterrent to armed robbers.
Chappell Hill Bank, located about an hour northwest of Houston, is a bank with history.
"Near as we know, we’re the oldest continuously operated bank in the United States," said bank President Ed Smith. "The rest of them closed for Roosevelt’s bank holiday in 1933."
There have been rules along the way.
"No damn Yankee is going to tell us what to do," said Smith.
Smith, a fourth-generation Texan, recently added another rule to the list.
"I got to thinking we have a right to bear arms," said Smith. "People who have a conceal carry license are welcome here with their pistols."
The premise is boldly stated on the front door.
"Management recognizes the 2nd Amendment to the U.S. Constitution," the sign reads.
Smith said he has received reactions from all around the world, and the vast majority of them have been positive. He said the measure hasn’t been bad for business either, and that it has generated at least a dozen new accounts.
