Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Little help on a dialy driver.....
First off....I don't need links. I can find shit locally, but looking for ideas.
I have $2500 to spend. Less would be fine, but not worried about getting to that maximum number.
I want something something with under 150K miles (the lower the better), good on gas, reliable. Four doors would be nice, but not necessary.
Been looking at mid-90's Civic's, but they are semi-hard to come by.
Ideas???

Early 90's Corsicas/Grand Prix's with 3.1L v-6. Fits all of the above.

Light Pewter Metallic- 2001 Camaro SS
90s Nissan Maxima. May be able to find one in that price range.

Could maybe able to even get an older truck in that range.
Maybe even something v6 and 4x4..
If you're interested in that of course..
IMHO, most of what you'll find for $2500 and lower is going to be higher mileage..

Sunset Orange Metalic- 2001 Camaro SS
2000-03 cavalier. You should be able to find them at a decent price in good condition. the base engine is pretty reliable

I bought a 1999 Saturn wagon for $1600, drove it 3 years and 40k miles, no problems and got 35mpg, then sold it for $1600 still running good.
The '95-'99 Saturns S series are decent cars and cheap to fix if they do break.
Avoid 2000 and later as that was when GM bean counters got involved and the cars turned to crap.
I bought a 2001 Saturn SC2 coupe after the '99 wagon expecting the same level of excellent service and gas mileage.
Had more problems in 6 months than 3 years with the wagon.

Custom Swirly Black- 2001 WS6 M6
I'd recommend a Jeep, either Cherokee or a Grand, but they get shit gas mileage. There are thousand for sale in good condition within most of those requirements.

Knee yawn perhaps
Wouldn't waste my money on a Cavalier of Sunfire. 2.2s blow head gaskets and the rear frames rot out

Liquid Red- 2008 Pontiac G8 GT
Grand Prix GT or GTP or any other 3800 car. Still good on gas, reliable, good looking and cheap to fix.

I bought a 5 spd 95 nissan sentra 2 years ago for $800, I consistently get between 30-35mpg in the city. It has 140k on it now and just keeps going. I do only basic maintenance and it wont die even after I put it into a tree. It might be ugly but cant beat the reliability and gas mileage.

+1 on the early 90's accord...sis has a beater '90 4 banger with over 200k still runs and rides smooth.

Red Tint Jewelcoat- 2008 Trailblazer SS
Whoops....messed up the thread title a bit.
I am wanting 25MPG around town. Kinda pushes the Cherokee or Grand Prix out of the equation.
I would like to ideally spend $1500-2000 rather than $2500. TBSS needs tranny upgrades....

keep your daughter in mind....gonna need some trunk space to haul toys and shit around My brother in law just bought an accord for $1000 that's in actually pretty good shape. Not sure how many miles are on it but really mileage isn't that big a deal on honda's and toyota camry's and what not.....they'll run forever. Although every older one I see with a ton of miles has a wrecked exhaust system on it
