The little dog that could
Well last week I was saying how we thought we lost our dog, Dusty, to coyote's. Someone even told us they saw it happen...
That was July 4th. Only July 12th a family pulls up our driveway and laying in the seat is my dog. He's filty, matted, bleeding, and too weak to barely stand up. They found him wandering in a neighborhood and one of the children happened to call his name because he remembered the poster and Dusty looked over. The father decided to go pick him up and bring him to our house. Unbelievable. He survived for 8 days on his own. We live in a pretty heavily wooded area too. Its beyond me how he did that. We took him to the vet's office and he checked out fine, just a rash and needed to drink lots of water (and he did when we got him home at first). All he has done is slept slept slept and now hes feeling better and barking at people again. Our guess is he was exploring and started hearing fireworks go off and lost his sense of direction. Thank God we have our dog back, he's like a family member. What makes it even more amazing is that he is a maltese/poodle and that little bastard wouldn't give up.

Never underestimate the powers of the canine. That's great you got your furry family member back safe.

Indeed. I never would of imagined we'd see him again. But hes home looking out the window for us again and barking at everything that comes by.

We cut his balls off though he should of went anywhere. I think he was scoping the place out and the fireworks messed his sense of direction up
