leaving f-body scene, next car advice needed
I recently went through Camaro #2 on my list. I wound up losing it on an icy bridge out in Newark on a date. The first one I lost control because I swerved away from a bedliner that came off a truck in front of me; lost the rear end and it was all over. While I first thought I should go for another Camaro, I haven't heard the end of it from my family. My second thought was to go for a GTO, but seeing how I need to commute to Newark next year for my grad degree I've been rethinking the situation and seriously considering the purchase of a FWD sports compact instead to survive the NJ winters. Good fuel economy is nice but not a must....and as you can see from my selections, I'd still like a little fun with my future car.
I've been thinking of these cars: Dodge SRT-4, Scion tC, & Cobalt SS.
Any suggestions on other cars or advice on these? My budget should be at most, $17000. Thanks!!!

Nothing Scion if you want to keep your balls from falling out your nose.

Be sure and get one of them paper bags to put over your head if you get any of the cars you mentioned.....listen.....a muscle car will cost you less than $1000 per year versus one of them gas sippers and you can keep your dick......so you have to ask yourself.....Self...is my dick worth a $1000 bucks a year? Your welcome.....

Hey if gas was the only reason I had against getting another LSx then I'd stick it out, but my primary concern is that I have to commute a lot next year in the snow, ice, and rain. I have no other car to take in poor conditions and I can't take another hit to my insurance. I've been an avid f-body fan since I was 16, but I can no longer stand trying to drive in inclement conditions.
On top of that, my family is very against me getting another RWD platform vehicle. Even if I took the risks, they are the ones assisting me through college.

2002 Z28 A4 NBM- Sadly now demodded :(
Continue to buy F-bodies and wreck them. It make's my cars worth more.
J/K. I've been through periods when it seemed like the bad karma wouldn't quit. At 1 point in my 20's I'd wrecked 3 cars in 6 months (none of them my fault according to the police - just in the wrong place at the wrong time) and took to riding a bicycle to work.

Whats funny is that in the end a RWD car is safer then a FWD car in bad weather cause the steer wheel are not under power making them less likely to break loose. Have you though of perhaps slowing down and getting a good set of performance touring tires. Other wise I would suggest a Subaru or may be a nice Audi quatro.

06 PBM GTO(458WHP)SOLD!!- 06 TR GTO~476WHP 425TRQ
Cobalt or Srt-4. Ive had an Srt-4 and know the lmitless potential and 500 CHP hold for most. Its a very strong motor if you wanna get the power. But i DO think a NEW Turbo Cobalt SS would be sweet!! They look better IMO. But if you do so happen to decide on an Srt-4 let me know and i can find you some very tastefully modded ones
