I hate glare with such a raging passion I'll never be able to buy a plasma myself... glare + afternoon football games = RAGE
But anyways, I can't give you too much specific help except look at all the individual reviews of each TV model you are considering... but it sounds like you are already doing that, so good luck!

PLASMA.....!!!!!!
panasonic or pioneer are the two best. (panasonic, makes pioneers plasmas)
I have a panasonic, no issues with glare, very bright screen, no ghosting/trailing, no left artifacts(burn in) excellent for gaming, wide viewing angle. I have had the tv for a year and love it.
also the panasonic plasma that I have, has BBE sound built in. The bass from the tv rattles my kitchen cabinets..
BBE is a company that makes sound equipment for the music industries. The make what guitarist love, called the BBE Sonic Maximizer.
AVS forums is a great siteLast edited by ibanez7; 09-16-2008 at 05:55 AM.

Panasonic and Pioneer Plamsas for the win.
No ghosting.
No IR.
No burn in.
The blackest blacks and whitest whites, and all the vibrant colors of the rainbow.
There's no comparison.

view'd dlp right next to plasma and lcd running off the same signal....i highly disagree....lcd and plasma look much sharper/brighter/ angle viewing on dlp is horrible.........replace your bulb every 5 yrs.....plasma and lcd are said to last 60k hrs or roughly 20 yrs..........basicly theyll last as long as crt tvs did ....i dont wanna fuck with replacing a 400 dollar bulb in 5 yrs on a tv that will barely be worth that

yes I bought a panasonic for $2000.00
the tv is amazing so is panasonics customer service. during owning the tv for the past year, panasonice sent me an XD card to uprgrade the tvs firmware, free of charge.
Also now that my 1 year warranty is up, panasonic sent me a letter asking if I would like to buy an addition 1 year or 3 year warranty.
1year=$160
3years=$340
both warranties include product replacement, if it cant be fixed along with in home servicing so I never have to transport the tv. Its a better warranty then the bestbuy or CC warranty that runs during your initial 1 year warrranty.
check out panasonics website...

I also chose the Panasonic Plasma. No problems and no glare.
You can get some good info and reviews at Cnet to help you decide which is best for you.

mine is not the 800 series.
the panasonic i bought (last year) I think is the 700U series. (the top model then)
make sure the one you get has the BBE sound. Makes a world of difference in sound.
I actually do not use my surround sound system as often because of how good the BBE sounds

soon our current HD TVs will be out of date...
reason being, the RED camera created by Oakley founder Jim Jannard.
the Red is 5X greater the resolution of our current HD cameras and TVs
