Lamborgini and Carreras vs. Trans Am (Mine)
Today, for the first time ever, I drove near a Lamborgini, my childhood fantasy car. Drove alongside one for about a half mile, until I passed it Dude was driving slow. I rolled down my window and turned off the A/C to hear it; seems to run slightly loud. Not sure how many people here have been so close to one of those on the road.
I ended up behind a Carrera later. Passed it, when it turned. I've always thought Porsches are overrated. Seeing that made me believe a car from a few days ago (of which I didn't see the front) was a newer version. A guy pulled up on my right side at the light, revved his engine and zoomed by, letting out a lot of noise and maybe the worst cloud of smoke I've ever seen from a car. Then made a right turn into a residential neighborhood a short block away. Yeah, guy, that impressed me. Bigger dick than mine (better car), but diseased and driven by a dickhead.

I thought about that saying when posting. But hey, lamborghinis (now I remember the spelling) on the road and high-end sports cars spewing smoke are unusual.

Porsches are a dime a dozen, the chosen car of the middle aged mid life crisis masses.
Sure they are well engineered cars, but I'm not impressed by people who drive them, as they really do tend to be arrogant dicks (except for my best friend who has owned 4 ). Folks here who have owned Porsches are exceptions, I'm sure. You have to have a certain level of innate coolness to enjoy f-bodies!

I was actively trying to keep pace with the Lamborghini and then to feel the satisfaction of surging ahead. And the smoking Carrera (or whatever that was) seemed to be doing that display for me specifically. If so, how stupid of him, almost like me trying to race those types of cars. "Versus" also referred to the engine noise - I could easily hear the Lamborghini at the light, and I rolled down the window to make the comparison. But true, the title could have said "versus (but not racing)."

There's a neon green Lamborghini around here somewhere, I see it every now and then. Just saw it a couple of days ago in fact. It's a sweet looking car.
And there's a red Ferrari around here too that I see from time to time. Not sure which model, but it's bad ass looking, not the cheapo Magnum-PI model or anything. One day he was racing around cars trying to pass everyone before the road went from two lanes to one. I floored it and kept him from getting around me. When it went to two lanes again, he passed me and grinned at me. No way I woulda won if his lane hadn't ended, but I call it a victory.

It's been a while since I've seen a lambo on the road, but one instance stands out to me and still makes me laugh.
It was some random night during high school, I must have been 16 or 17 years old, and 4 of us are packed into one of my friends cars, which at the time was this shitty little Kia sedan, I can't remember what it's called, the Rio maybe? Anyway, on this four lane road in our town we come up to a red light next to where a gun-metal-looking murcielago is also waiting. Of course, being high schoolers, we go ballistic. The driver of the lambo gives us this arrogant chuckle, and my friend starts revving the little lawnmower engine in his Kia. The lambo guy doesn't do anything but he's still just smiling. Not expecting him to do anything, my friend floors it for the lulz when the light turns green. Well, the lambo does as well, and jesus christ, it made it seem like we were going 50mph in reverse. Naturally we reacted like a bunch of little schoolgirls at that display.

I'd guess the guy in the Porsche rarely floors it or drives it hard, and it's all built up with carbon.........hence the big cloud.
