Kinda funny how broke people are..but sad

I was at the bar this saturday enjoying a Duke (3-4ish beers) of miller light. It was the only choice and it's only 2.50.

So we grab a table, my friend and I to just sit our beers on. The tall table type.

I see we are right next to the ATM and without even turning and I can see the sum of the funds after they leave.

So we are chatting and drinking and I figured this out and was curious.

Pretty much every younger girl was broke. Literally 20-40 dollars in their accounts. The only girl that wasn't broke was like 40, she had like 4 thousand in her account. The guys were a bit better off, couple hundred here and there, a thousand, then one dude had 11 thousand, not bad.

I guess if I were that broke I wouldn't be going to the bar...just boggles my mind.

when I was in high school my dad bought a bar ( yes....it was awesome). I remember when he bought it he said bars are easy to make some money. People drink because they have money and they drink because they don't.

I go to college bars all the time. I can't count how many times I've been behind girls asking if they had a cover charge because they had no money. THEN WTF ARE YOU DOING THERE!!! For just me 70 bucks is an average nights spending including tip.

Women being broke is nothing new. For most of them it actually gets worse the older they get.
Smkn_TA, some things dont change, back when i was doing the nite clubbing thing 10 years back, it was the same thing with women going to bars with little to no money.

70 bucks was about right when I was younger.

Now I'm typically never over the 20-30 range, wether I have 3k in savings or nothing. But it's also rare I leave a bar hammered as I am usually driving or need to be productive the following day.

a lot of people only keep spending money in their checking account. i typically only have a couple hundred bucks in my checking account. my savings is in a high interest savings account.
also, if the young girls are college aged, they probably live off of a very low wage, or an allowance from their parents.

I spent more in bars when I was broke and lived with my parents back in the day. Now that I own a house and three cars (have big bills) I don't frequent bars as much and actually have less money to spend in them.
