    "Kellys Blue Book" for motorcycles?

Is there a KBB type rating for motorcycles? I'm in the market for my first bike but I'd like to be able to see what they are worth according to some standard cause just looking around I've seen some rediculous variances in prices and i am not accustomed to getting ripped if i can help it

I just bought my CBR1000 in May. It is my first bike. First thought when I got on it for the first time and hit the throttle was "bad idea." Now, I have 2000 mishap free miles and loving it. Riding Pacific Coast Highway next weekend. Should be fun.

    Good luck!

kbb is pretty accurate on their prices.

pick up "twist of the wrist" from your local library and read that for a starter reference. also look out for a Motorcycle Safety Foundation course in your area (MSF Course).

and when you do get onto the bike the three big things to remember are: throttle wrist low, do not target fixate, and brake early and smoothly.

    good luck and happy hunting.

try out www.cycleforums.com there is alot of helpful info there, bikes for sale, ect. You can find better deals on people trying to get rid of them, instead of people owing on them. Also watch the mileage, if its over 12-15k miles, then you want to make sure that the maintnance is done (valves adjusted ect). If your a first time rider, I'd say look at something like a GSXR 750, a 1000 depending on your size, is a rather large bike to learn on, and a rather expensive bike to be wrecking/totalling in your first few weeks.
