Just need to vent..
I just got a call from my Best Friend's Dad.. Best friend like a brother. Grew up together. Lived together, raced, dated the same girls (sisters etc) rode together (Motorcycles) for 20 years etc..
Was going back to New Hampshire in July to be at his wedding...
He fell into a coma.. his liver failed in the night..gave him blood poisoning.. then his kidneys failed.. then his lungs... He in all likelyhood won't live past the weekend..
He's 40.. So unfair.. He survived a BRUTAL divorce.. JUST and I mean like in the last few years got back into his kids lives.. ( two sons ) Found a Wonderful woman..she's just fantastic. Smart, funny, educated and even likes him..Now he's dying..
I spent the last three hours in crying and cursing.. just waiting for a red eye flight to New Hampshire now..
So Godamned Unfair.. All the flaming assholes in the world that Deserve to die.. Most of you guys would like him.. He's a gear head through and through..
Owns a 71 Z28. an 84? 85 GTA, used to give me shit for selling my SS.
Ok. I gotta go beat on a wall or something...I had to spend all day selling tires and brake jobs with a stupid smile on my face.. Gonna go down my bottle of Jack and get ready for the crap at the airport.
Say a prayer for a good guy lost gang if you would, He truly was a hellova friend.. The one friend that would come no matter what.. sorry for the long post... Had to vent..
GOD Damn it all.. Just not right..

Shitty day man
I'm so sorry to hear that, he sounded like a good guy. He will be remembered by you and others I'm sure and I'll be thinking of him today, all my best.
I had an accident and I walked the line for a few months but I'm one of the lucky ones I wish your buddy was 2 man
Good luck and god bless

Be strong CS. If he goes, remember the saying "friends til the end". Not many friendships last this long these days.

I hope everything turns out ok for him.... Did he have health problems or did this just all happen over night?

I have looked at this thread 3 times trying to think of something to say. My heart dropped when I got to the middle of the post and I didn't think it was going that way. I am sorry. Just pray he does make it.

Life is not fair but it is all we have. I too have lost friends and family long before their time to go.
All I can suggest is to take the focus off of yourself and be there for his children, his family, and his lady. I have no doubt you were his family too as I know how that works.
Be yourself, honor your friend through your actions, do not be afraid to show your emotions and have the strength to do it in a manner that respects your friend and his family.

Sorry it took so long to update. I just got back from New England. I sincerely appreciate your kind words and thoughts. Sadly, Darell didn't make it. After a long hard fight, his body simply cannot keep up.. They will be turning off the Life Support today.
I truly appreciate your support.

Sorta knew it was coming. He had a genetic disorder, kind of like hepatitus (sp?). 14 years ago his body rejected his skin, and he has suffered bouts of jaundice (skin and eyes turn yellow etc) But he was so much better the last few years... I was really praying that he would make it.. Just had so much good going for him lately.
I can't post much, I get all broken inside and I just can't function.
I truly appreciate all of your kind words..I know Darell is looking down on us now and I am sure he would say Thank you as well. I got in to see him.. (His Fiancee told the Doctors I was his brother.) I got to hold his hand and brush the hair out of his eyes etc.. I cannot express how much I miss him and how happy I am that I got to say goodbye...
Cherish your friends guys.. You never know how long you will have them.. I am still struggling with this, so pardon me if I don't post alot about it.
Doug ~
Just a brief.. I don't have many friends out here in Seattle, so I post and vent here. To any I may have offended. I am truly sorry, I just needed to get it out.. if that makes sense and will now drop the topic.
