I'll help out instead of just bitching....I'll help draft a letter for ol Ed to the ISP....Ed of course can nip and tuck as he sees fit.....
Dearest Too fucking stupid to wipe your own ass,
I realize after you had developed the early warning collision system for the Exxon Valdez you decided to get into the Internet Service Provider business and we here at LS1.Com are just tickled shitless. I feel compelled to share a few of the basics with you.
1. If you insist on server sharing ( and that is fine) what parameters have you set up for LAN routing there on your wonderful POS backplane? Does the router you have in service match the one in the Cisco museum?
2. Ingress/Egress. That means in and out. What percentage of your bandwidth is set aside for each? Do you have a fucking clue?
3. Security. Ever heard of it? There are some wonderful services that absolutely lock your servers down and prevent preventable outages caused by worms/trojans and totally avoidable situations like that. These services can be had for less that $10 dollars a month and voila...your customers don't have to worry about silly outages caused by these things anymore. Fairly simple huh?
Other than that I will close with a simple FUCK YOU VERY MUCH.
Your Pal,
Ed

I even asked if we could be moved to a better server or even a dedicate one. They don't offer that.
