Just how good is the Iranian Army?

The towelhead pres in Iran said their army could punish any country and that got me thinking, Just how good is their military? Do they have an airforce? How big is their military might compared to the U.S.? , I couldnt find really any answers I was looking for on the net.

ya it looks like on tv that they have some 1980's style semi cabs with some rockets on the back. i really wish we (u.s) could use nukes man so we could make them all glass ornaments.

Irans military a threat to us?

sure Iran has a better Army than Saddam did, but they aint that much better... The only thing we would be worrying about is how Russia/China would react if we declared war on Iran.

Russia???? They wouldn't do jack. I don't think they have a pot to pee in. They certainly couldn't afford to fight us. China, maybe, but doubtful. But, of course, if there was any opportunity for gain in it, North Korea would probably get involved. Little bastards.

My guess is they bought whatever they could from Russia, France and China. They would suffer the same fate as Iraq did on the ground, and thier air force doesn't have the nuts to leave the ground, again,just like Iraq. The Jews will attack before us, so no worries.

I don't think we will ever face an enemey that will meet us head on again.

They will blend into the population and fight a war of attrition like we have seen in Vietnam and Iraq.

The US has proven that we are not willing to win that kind of war. It's not our military capabilities, it's our gutless politicians.

I don't know if I'd call that an invasion...

I think it's an appropriate military response, if it comes to that. High probability for success, fairly low risk, and maybe it would provoke them into invading Iraq...where we could slaughter their army without having to deal with all the occupying bullshit we're having do deal with in Iraq.

They fought the same Iraqi military that we wiped out in a month (twice) for a decade with no success, if that helps any.
