Just got the ls6 running!
Boy after a week of work (my business) and the 3 to 4 hours working on the T/A a day, I finally fired it up!!! I bought a crate motor and rented a shop with a lift bought a ls1/ ls6 book and away I went. I swapped out the ls6 cam for a custom grind, swapped the yellow valve springs for the patriot gold ones, upgraded the timing chain, went with slightly longer pushrods, and dropped in a slp under drive pulley. I would personally like to thank Josh for the cam install and Mike for the service!(both from the WS6Store). I also went a step further and went with the UMI tubular k member and upper and lower control arms, poly motor and trans mounts. I have a vid of the initail start up I will try to post... So the list as of now is... Custom tune, cam, springs, timing chain, slp pulley, p rods, qtp headers, slp cold air kit, k&n, slp maf, ngk tr6 plugs, spec clutch, msd wires, 42# injectors, 2 1/2 true duals, free mods, umi tubular panhard bar,, control arms and drop brackets, eibach sportline drop, a short throw shifter and I think thats it! All wrapped up in a stock 405 horse ls6. Can't wait to break it in I have a nx wet kit waiting to be installed! Let me know what you guys think!!

Awesome, that's the best part of working on a car, hearing it start up again.

I did the powerdyne on the ls1 that ended with a bad tune and a bang!!! My bro has a ati on his silverado ss he loves it. I'm going to rebuild the ls1 and put the powerdyne back on it. I bought my dad a 76 vette and I wanna install that set up in there. I was told the ls6 has to much compression to boost???

congrats although I do have a question. Did you weigh the costs of an ls6 crate motor versus an ls1 with aftermarket heads? Seems after you replace the cam you're basically just gaining the 243 heads and ls6 intake more or less. Just curious. The ls6 is 10.5:1 vs 10.1:1 for the LS1.

I am not sure what research he actually did however I do know that it tends to be cheaper to buy and brand new crate LS6 than it does to buy a new LS1 just due to the fact that more LS6s were created than LS1s for aftermarket use. I do not know if this always holds true but I know it was like that for a while

Yeah the crate was $3000, and I wasn't sure what was wrong with the ls1 to spend the money having it rebuilt. I thought I'd ease into the nitrous, can any of you guys help me out with the wiring (bottle heater, purge, window switch and wot switch, just the basic what color goes where). thanks!!

There's a ProCharged Z06 in Wilmington, NC with 630 at the wheels. Search streetfire.net for BnT.

I will have my girlfriend down load it off the camara tonite, the ls6 I picked up from crateenginedepot.com 2999 plus 100 to ship to a dock (150) to your home I believe. I had to use my oil pressure sensor and the oil level sensor, and change the throw out bearing, other then that everything else came with it, plugs, sensors, even an oil filter. It was a long block so you need to use your water pump, alt, intake, etc... plus it has a 100k mile warrenty! couldn't get one of those having the ls1 rebuilt.
