ITT I see what I can do, selling stuff on eBay
Instead of throwing things away I figured I would sell some of my belongings on eBay to make a quick buck. Judging by the misnomer "egay" that's used commonly on this forum, I thought I could log my activity and either prove you guys wrong or confirm your suspicions. And also mostly out of boredom.
I won't tell you links or my ebay username, because I'm sure that not only does it probably break some forum rules about spamming, but more importantly because some of you guys would love to make a troll account and bid $1000 on a $20 book But I will let you know my profits, fees, expenses, etc.
Right now I have 26 items listed, a mixture of books and video games. The highest starting bid is $49.99, the lowest starting bid is $0.99.
I have spent $8.60 so far on listing fees.
Here are the beginning stats as a benchmark:

Feel free to ask any related questions, or to make fun of me.

i buy several items yearly off of ebay and never bid on items with a starting price, ever, it's just annoying to me almost as much as reserves. It's a freaking auction, i want to bid victoriosly I also like to think just maybe i'm going to get a steel even if it only lasts a short while.

I've only used buy it now on eGay so far. Even then car parts prices are lower than on a regular website. Plus I can get good Chinese parts that you can't find other places

I've never sold anything on e-bay. Bought maybe 2-3 items per year, but keep all purchases less than $100. By chance, are your books listed under "Secrets of Self Pleasuring" or "How to Almost Score with a Fat Chick"?

Sweet. I just made a paypal and eGay account too. I'm gonna start selling and buying shit and see how that goes.
I used to use my dads account but got tired of having to go through him for it.

People will buy anything on ebay.
I've sold things for ridiculous amounts of money.
Example, when my husband worked on X-Files, the company would give gifts to the cast and crew all the time. (Most shows do) anyway, people went crazy for that stuff.
I sold razor scooter that had David Decoveny's signature on it for like $260. But, the most outrages sale was a wrap party invite that had expired (we didn't go) for $50! Just an invite. One lady bought a bottle of X-Files wine. She lived in Canada. Canada poured it out and she recived it empty and was dissapointed but still thrilled to have it I think that went for like $150.
I'm not kidding. That X-Files stuff had a ton of bids
If you can make a few bucks, go for it. You have nothing to lose but a little time packaging and shipping
