Hey fellas, hows it going?

So, I just joined LS1.com ,and its been pretty cool so far. This is my virgin post, but i'm coming to you all for help.

My baby, my red '01 SS, Val, is in the shop needing a rear end overhaul. The dealer told me it needs a few things, but the guy was cool and told me i could find all the stuff myself and save a boat load on parts.

Well, I found some 3.73's on ebay, and the guy sold me a set of actual GM R & P gears. So Thats taken care of.

Now, what I need to ask you guys about is where I could find a pair of axles here in Los Angeles.

I'd like to pick these babies up on Saturday, so I can get them to the shop on Monday, and get my girl back that night, or tuesday morning. If not, then where can i look to find some good, but not shitty axles? I just need to get her back on the road.

I think that'll be all i need and then the fun starts again.....

Any help you can give me will be VERY appreciated.

i can recomend craigslist but thats abou all that can be done in this short of time

when I first saw your plate I dug it!!! But I really own mine out here in Cali, and I love it a bit more.... lol.

a Mustang with "MACH WON" on his asked me how I got it...... I said I was good! And smoked the tires down the 405!!

have you considered a 12 bolt? 9"? dana60" instead of an overhaul on yours?

by time u get done the pretty much complete rebuild of the rear hes looking at wouldnt it be cheaper just to get a 12 bolt or 9" like u suggested?

ps- i know when my brother was looking for a 9" we scowered the junk yards and found one for his 72 lemans, could u dothat for a newer fbody? just throwin a question out there!!

If you're going to go through the trouble...get a stronger rear. If I were to buy one today it would be the Strange S60 (Dana) or a 9". I grenaded my 12 bolt and had to go to a full spool.

Yes, DO Not waste your money on a rebuild of the piece of shit 10 bolt, Get a 9".

Oh well, lesson learned. If I ever "blow" this rearend up again, i'll definatlely upgrade....

For now, i'm just gonna try to not punish the car as often.....but i'm probsbly not being honest with myself.
