Fast Five - June 2011

In the fifth installment in the "Fast and Furious" series, former cop Brian O'Conner (Paul Walker) partners with ex-con Dom Toretto (Vin Diesel) on the opposite side of the law. Since Brian and Mia Toretto (Jordana Brewster) broke Dom out of custody, they've blown across many borders to elude authorities. Now backed into a corner in Rio de Janeiro, they must pull one last job in order to gain their freedom. As they assemble their elite team of top racers, the unlikely allies know their only shot of getting out for good means confronting the corrupt businessman who wants them dead. Yay. We get to see more muscle cars destroyed for no apparent reason. Also I wonder if they'll do another import motor swap into a mustang body.

I'm interested in seeing this movie. I'm a car guy and when sequels come out involving car movies, then I get curious on the storyline.

I like car movies too. But this series isn't about cars, it's about the actors...Cars are mostly eye candy to get tuners and some gear heads to come out to see them.

What I hate about these films is that after it comes out:

1) LEOs hit the roads harder, looking at every muscle/tuner car thinking they are racing
2) Tuner crowd gets hyped up and wants to race their POS immediately in the theater parking lot
3) For the next 6 weeks there after every douche bag thinks mommies 4 banger car with a fart can and some "NNNnnnnnooooooooooosssssSSSSSS!!!!!" can win every race every time.
4) Besides the brief 5 mins in the 1st movie, it shows very little in what it takes to build a true high performance car.

I DO race everywhere I go. I live my life a quarter mile at a time.

I consider that continued entertainment after the movie; It's well worth it if I witness a 240 wrap itself around a lamppost

Good thing for me my moms minivan doesn't need naws to be viable.
