Huh. I can't watch the vid right now. The pic looks pretty cool though. I may be wrong on this since I haven't watched the vid but isn't that like the Subaru boxer engine?

interesting to say the least. i think the thing that struck me the most was that it's a 2 stroke...basically everyone has moved away from 2 strokes. i also wonder what emissions would be like (if they were to put them into consumer production).

i'm sure if gasoline was used as the fuel source it would be terrible...

its got 2 cylinders, with 2 pistons in each cylinder comin at each other making compression...no intake or exhaust valves....get to somewhere you can see the video...youlll understand.

It's basically a smae ole same ole two stroke. They just figured out how to shorten the distance the piston has to move by adding a piston. RPMs should be ridiculously high since the piston is barely moving.

opposed piston technology was an old idea. but failed and never took off.

kind of like run flat tires, great idea long ago but took many years before they came out.,

its cool to see this technology take off, I still worry about the long connecting rods..

The long rods are in tension, so as long as the bolts hold up they should be ok. Don't have to be near as beefy as a normal con-rod.
