It's -4 here this morning, I made it to work just fine.

You'll be okay, you only have to deal with it for a short period of time. The biggest deal is to dress properly, or you'll end up like you.....frozen.

Trust me, it's not a treat working up here outside in the winter - but, it is what it is I guess. It's really all I know, so it's like anything else, we're just climatized to it I guess, just like you are to your weather.

Edit: What kind of work does he do? Does he need to find people up here that will do the work if he gets the bid?

    Ouch, you work outside?

When my dad came home from the airport from MN in december, the first thing that came out of his mouth were complaints about how far the parking lot was from the facility and that he had forgotten his beanie

He's a mechanical engineer and product line manager. He works at the research & development division of the company near Atlanta where they build prototypes of the machines he and his employees design.

He travels up there though a lot because the main assembly plant where the machines are built is there, and that's also where they hold meetings and presentations for current or potential clients.

    Very cool

What type of 'machines' are we talking about here?

    Man that's not for me...

I'm a pansy, I wore a skull cap style beanie to class this morning (I have to wait outside for the bus, takes awhile) and it wasn't even freezing outside. I think it was about 35 or so.

I can relate to this. I turned down a better paying job because it was in Rochester, New York. I'd already moved from L.A. to Phoenix for a better job. I can take the heat. I can't deal with the cold (or the humidity).

You will be 10-15min away from my house. Welcome to beautifully frozen WI. Its 7 now and -12 with the wind Ha. We complain about 10-20 inch snow falls but the record in the USA is just under 76 inches in a 24 hour period. Imagine 6 foot snow fall in 24 hours
