Image editor
Although I am pretty much a Jedi Master with MSPaint, I don't have a clue on other programs. Right now, I have an image from my camera saved in JPEG that I need to edit and then send to Cafe Press for some shirts and hats. They recommended that I download gimp.com and use that. My security scan wasn't too impressed with the download attempt though so I aborted. Anyone familiar with gimp? Is it safe? Other options?
Thanks!

Paint shop pro..

GIMP is great.
Has 75-80% of the functionality of Photoshop but is totally free.
Works on Mac, Windows, or Linux.

gimp is fine, ...also smittro mentioned PSP (paint shop pro), which i have an older version of... not sure what the newest PSP is like though...
gimp is kinda a PITA, been using it alot recently, ...it has some kinda unintuitive quirks, mainly in dealing w/ basic ops like floating selections, moving things and anchoring them... the one good thing that has come from it though is the "consolidated" user interface, ...you can set it up to use just one window now, instead of the old way with a bazillion different windows...

I have gimp up and running. Been able to make a few changes so far. Trying to outline the logo from the pic and then delete the background... not having much luck so far.
Smittro -- it's from PC Doctor and seemed to work way better than Symantec, although they just bought it out.

I also format my HD and put a fresh install of WIN7 on my rig every 30-60 days.
