I'm turning 40 this weekend...
Yup, I'll be 40 Sunday. Tell the truth, I feel anxious about it. Even a little sick. I just want the day to pass.
Almost 40, single, not dating anyone, homeowner, no issues (except a health scare years ago) no credit card debt, no drugs, decent job with 2 part time jobs.
...I thought things would be different by now.
Anyone else?

Why does your age in your profile say that you're 42?

That sucks....2.5 years till I turn 40 and I'm not really looking forward to it. If I were you I'd do something really special to remember the day...maybe choke yourself while jerking off. LOL

40 wasn't near the shitty b-day for me that 38 was. For some reason when I turned 38 I had the worst week ever.....was sick as hell that week and just felt old as shit in general. When I turned 40 it wasn't any big deal.

Be who you are and say what you feel 'cause people who mind don't matter, and people who matter don't mind.'

30 and 40 were no problem. 50 seemed the other side of the fence.

I do have a full head of hair (although it is gray) but little stuff, like getting a bone spur in my knee and hobbling around like an old fart gets annoying,
although I did shovel my driveway today. Also, the advantage to looking old is at some point it is easier to get away with "pull my finger" jokes.
Additionally, just because I look older and have some aches and pains, there is no rule that says I cannot act young. 53 going on 16...

I'm 33. Own 2 nice cars. One of which most of you know well. I own my own house. Excellent job. Pretty damn good looking. No kids or other baggage as a single man. Zero credit card debt and in about 6 months I'll officially own my DD. Pretty well educated; more than most people I'd say.
I thought for sure I'd be married by late 20's and have a family at my age by now. Living what I considered to be the "American Dream". Hell, I was always with a girl from 16-30 just about.
Truth of the matter is, after dating around for about 1.5 years and seeing what's out there these days in the form of single women and relationships, I'm pretty damn happy being single.
As Spaz says, live life man. Enjoy it while you can. It doesn't take a woman by your side to make you happy. Be happy in your own skin and the rest will fall in place in time. Maybe not in the time you expect it to, but it will if it's supposed to happen.
