    i'm going to go pick up my ls6 today...

    i blew my 4th engine now and i'm going to go pick up #5 today...

    this time i got an ls6 cause it was alot cheaper than a ls1 and i'm going to have phoenix performance install it!!!

    i can't friggin wait!!!

    well... the thing is i bought a COMPLETE ls6 for $5800... if i were to buy a lets say slp 383 forged short block... thats about $3400... now for the injectors, pullys, heads, intake, ect,ect... i'd be around $7-8k... plus assembly, installing and tuning... now i'm up to around $10,000.00... then i would have to get a stronger rear... another $3,000 or so... then if i wanted to hit a race track i'd have to put a cage in my car... and so on and so forth...

    it wouldn't be very practical for dailey driving either with todays fuel prices...

    Best money you could spend is taking it to a shop and have them set the rev limiter to 4k rpms. Its pretty tough to blow up a 6 bolt motor but I guess theres always that guy that can blow up 3 or 4.

    If your going through motors at your rate you should have bought an LS1 again. I have a 99 LS1 WITH TRANNY that has 29k miles on it and I paid 3,200 bucks for it. Its complete with EVERYTHING.

    when you hit 6k your supposed to shift. oh yeah chance the oil and check for friggin leaks. i have never heard of someone busting such a stout engine like this unless they have a tune thats way off. simply driving hard and getting sideways is not gonna blow a motor. you must drive around banging the limiter with 2 qts of oil in your engine.

    6k?! pfft... i had Byran Herter set it to 6500... i usually shifted at 6300 especially in first gear cause it just rockets up quick... from what i've been told the ls6 is just as strong as the ls1 if not a bit more... so hopefully this one will last untill i can afford another one... if i blow this one i'm going to take out a mortgage and buy a lingenfelter 427...
