If They Build It, I Will Probably Buy It
Please do this for me GM
GM May Build Wrangler Competitor
I was seriously contemplating a new Wrangler but after reading all the stories about what a piece of crap they were it turned me off.
FJ Cruiser was nice but has a HUGE blind spot, basically forget about seeing anything behind you at an angle.
Already have a 4x4 truck but I want a 4x4 toy that is smaller than the Bronco.
I have realized in my old age that I far prefer going slow off road than going fast on the street.
Less people pull out in front of you too.

2000 Trans-Am- 2007 Silverado 2500HD LTZ
The best part about Wranglers, TJ's, CJ's are being able to take half the crap back off of it and drive it. The doors and top come off with minimal effort. The windshields have hinges, but rarely see anyone around here run with it down. They're very small and agile vehicles. If G.M. seriously wants to consider a vehicle to compete with it, start with a smaller platform OR right back to the drawing board. The Geo (Chevy) Tracker would be a great competitor with the wrangler family.

^This.
The coolest thing about driving a Jeep is running around with the top and doors off.
It's what makes putting up with all the other crap worthwhile (leaky top, noisy, rotten MPG, pretty much zero security if you have the soft top, etc..)
That said, if they incorporate the features of the show vehicle, it will be quite the erector set
The removable flares are what look really appealing to me.
They would give room for massive articulation when trail riding without having to run ghastly tube fenders all the time.
Agree that it needs to be smaller though.
The new Wrangler is almost as wide as my Bronco.

Remember when they were making a Raptor competitor? The Reaper? Where the hell are those trucks? Can't drive more 20 minutes without seeing a raptor.

Yes they are ugly. But 550hp should have convinced someone to buy them. I mean people bought the Aztec... not many but some. People already buy 70k trucks, if you ever see a GMC 3500 crew cab 8ft bed optioned out with the denali package that is a 70k+ truck.
