    Idiot State Trooper

Ok, tell me what you guys think. What does this State Trooper deserve, if anything, for what he did. For those who don't feel like clicking the link, here's the short: State Trooper pulls over an AMBULANCE transporting a patient for 'failure to yield' while the Trooper was on his way to an 'emergency response'. My opinion is on a comment on their site (you'll know which one is me, same screen name )

ps, wonder why they won't release the video....hmmmm

I wouldn't comment until I saw the video which they're not releasing. Too many variables. I will say that it depends on the patient in the back of the ambulance. If they were just giving a patient a ride from point a to point b then they should yield to the police car but if it was in fact an emergency then they shouldn't. I see them all the time here with their lights on doing the speed limit and assume they're just giving someone a ride somewhere.

I see your point, but on the other hand, how important was the officer's 'emergency' if he's pulling over the ambulance....must not have been too important obviously...

How was it an emergency when the State Trooper wife was in the car with him?

The other troopeers in the limited vid that was release came after he call for backup.

That came out 2 days ago on Fox.

It went national?? Awesome, I thought the local news stations were the only ones to report on it. I missed the part where the trooper's wife was in the car, he must have been trying to show his ass then, or she bitched at him to pull them over cause she's hot shit....too bad we can't see the video, the state should make them hand it over to the press as further punishment to the officer. Maybe one day it will end up on one of those surveillance videotape shows....

My brother is a paramedic and even when they have someone in cardiac arrest they never go more than 5mph usually. It may differ from station to station but they have strict rules on it where he works.

When I was an EMT-P 15 yrs ago, our Paramedics made the speed call. If the person was dying we hauled ass, most times with police escort. But never, never did any LEO screw with us. They usually look after us, because if they were shot one day, they knew we were the ones going to save their ass. Not sure what went on in these guys head. Honestly do you think he would have tried to pit this abulance if they had just kept going to the hospital?

He was probably too intimidated by that big sumbitch EMT

Well, looking at the video, he doesn't look as big as in the pictures...but he's still bigger than both those cops

The trooper could have used better tact but... the EMT is the bigger ass. I saw the whole video. The EMT was the one who escalated it and should be called the idiot.

Yeah a relative of the victim in the ambulance took that video.

    Here's an updated news link...

They still haven't made a decision on what to do with the officer....I know exactly what they should do...

Yeah....give him a medal. Most people in his position would have done the same.

The trooper should never have stopped the EMT to begin with, all would have been avoided....and since no charges are pressed on the EMT, and the officer is still on administrative leave pending action against him, I'd say you're wrong.

And you're wrong again. Most people would not be in that position, because they don't stop ambulance drivers for no reason...or I'm sorry, 'failure to yield'. I could see where he'd stop him if he were driving aggressively with no lights or sirens, but this is not the case. And this aggression by a police officer shouldn't be condoned. The officer tried to detain an EMT who had a VICTIM IN THE AMBULANCE, how stupid can a person be?

Allot of people....like you, love to "Monday morning quarter back" someone else's decision, not knowing all the actual circumstances that were involved. And...like most, you base an opinion of guilt or innocence based off of what you read in the media. We all know how accurate they can be....

Don't get pissed...you asked for opinions. I'm just giving mine.

Almost like the situation with that cop who detained that NFL player while his mother-in-law dying. I'm thinking the patrolmen will suffer the same fate. I know if i was the patient in the ambulance or a relative of, i'd be pisseed off!
