Im leaving for India tommorow and the thought of sitting 18+ hours in a plane scares me. My flight leaves at 10:30 so ill prolly sleep for a few hours, but once i get up, ill be bored. Any1 have any suggestions?? AND PLEASE DONT SAY READ A BOOK, i just finished my last day of college today.

This is how i handle long flights


1. Beer
2. Car Mags
3. Sleeping
4. movies ala portable dvd player or in your case its likely they will play a movie
5. portable video games

basically dont go to bed at all before your flight and make yourself exhausted, by the time you get on that plane and have a few drinks as well your body is gonna want a lot of sleep. If you can knock out a few hours at a time it makes it a lot easier

Use the flight to get pre-adjusted to the change in time zones. I found zanex and whiskey helps

Yeah im all packed up and getting ready to leave in a few hours. Im a little tired so i should fall asleep pretty quickley. I fly from JFK to Dubai which is around 12.5 hrs. So if i sleep for a good 7-8 hours i think i can keep myself occupied for the remaining. I have my Iphone so i should be good as long as the on-flight entertainment doesnt suck. By the way, does any1 know if a laptop is considered a handbag?

no, a laptop isn't usually considered a handbag, you shouldn't have a problem with that.
i would refrain from too much alcohol on the plane, it makes jet lag worse and also dehydrates. drink lots of water.
i take melatonin and a light sleeping aid, works great for me. i always take melatonin for the first 3 to five days in the new time zone.

normally you can have one carry on + purse/breifcase which would be your laptop. You should be fine. Only was to keep from being bored though is to knock yourself out.. I have done 24 hours worth of travel time to and from Iraq quite a few times now and we cant even drink on the plane so drugs were our only option lol.
