Our club went to Firebird Friday night. My friend is driving the yellow Camaro. Fortunately he swerved and missed the EVO...

EVO blew the engine. My friend backed off when he saw it back firing. This allowed the EVO to get in front of him when it blew. The EVO went left into its own oil then right across the track into the wall IN FRONT OF MY FRIEND! He went left into the other lane and escaped.

Kinda looks like something broke in the drivetrain or with the rear. I have heard stories of the EVO VIII having center differential issues.

Moron mitsu driver shoudl have backed out of it as soon as it started back firing like that. No chance you can't tell catastrophic failure in a car like that. Asshole was trying to win with no concern for what may happen next. Glad your friend was on his game.
