awwwwwwwwwwwwww omgosh your siberian husky is absolutely adorable! Great breed! Its a working breed, so make sure you give it a job do, and they will feel good and get some energy burned and be absolutely loyal to you and your family! Congratulations! Ive always wanted one but the closest ive gotten to this breed is just an akita lol which lives at the barn.... love their huge faces and think hair

    oh yeah and...

He is cute as hell. I want another Siberian Husky badly. Take good care of him.

Seriously though, you couldn't think of something better than "Dude" for his name? He has a good mask around his face, similar to what mine had. I named him Bandit. Surely you can think of something better than "Dude"

I dont know about the name, corny but for some reason that is what I keep calling him while he didnt have a name, so I figured why not. I just picked him up today. Trying to keep him busy and keep a close eye on him. He is already doing good with going outside, but he hasnt learned the difference yet. Next is crate training, I hate that part

Are you just going to be using the crate for when you are away, or do you put him in there while youre home as well?

Ill can give you some good tips about anything related to dog training...

Like for the crate... if it is used just for when you are away, never punish him by putting him in there.. Or then the dog will think every time he goes in there its cuz he did something bad, and causes you also to leave... then it could misbehave more and cause mischief. Puppies can develop abandonment issues when the owner leaves,, so is good to make sure they know they are good when you do leave. So what Ive always done was give him a treat when he goes in his crate while your gone, that way he gets a little reward for cooperating and knows hes not bad when he gets put in there when you leave. So eventually you wont have to push and shove him to get him in... he should go in easily when you say "get in your crate" or whatever command you chose.

He is doing great so far except for one thing. I played with him a lot to get him tired, so he fell asleep and I put him in his kennel but now he is awake and wont be quiet. He has already ate and drank. I already took him out to the bathroom, it is padded and has toys in there. any suggestions?

make sure he doesn't have a lot of room to walk around in the cage and I wouldn't keep toys in the cage.

so you want him to go to bed now is what you're saying?

Puppies are like babies.. At the young age that he is sometimes you have to play more to get him more tired, and respond to his needs when he needs attention... But the older he gets the less youll have to respond to his cries. Sometimes putting him to bed in a dark room will help him realize that it is time to sleep..

For my puppies, i had them in huge tv boxes. I slept in the living room the first 6 months and sometimes pet them to sleep...

Since he is 6 weeks putting a clock that ticks loud enough for him to hear beneath and wrapped up in blankets may help, cuz it will feel like his mothers heart beat... Also for the summer, or hairy dogs, i would wrap up a frozen ice thing in towels so he can lay on them, cuz boxes dont have circulation and it can get rather hot for them.

Also When he is in his cage make sure to take his collar off.... They can get it caught in the cage and hang themselves

exactly! if there is too much room for him, he will potty in the crate.. Sometimes you have to separate the crate so its not as large when they are puppies
