    I have a virus...PLEASE help me.

Ok guys I have something on my computer. I get a wallpaper on my background that is red and says "Your privacy is in Danger" "Download privacy protaction now". The whole background is clickable. Now I found where the background image is stored and delated that folder. STILL comes back. Has anyone had this happen before?

    THanks

    try doing this:

    start:all programs:accessoires:system tools: system restore

then "restore" your computer to a date before this all began occurring, might work, might not, but its a good place to start.

Sounds like spyware...companies actually dump crap on your computer to make you buy their product.

    Sadly now demodded :(

    Stop watching porn!

On the other hand (pun intended) get AdAware and Spybot. Both are free and both work pretty well.

I agree with 67Camaro. These programs clean up a lot of crap. I know a lot of people dont like it, but in my opinion, Norton Internet Security has awesome virus blocking software. It's saved my ass plenty of times A friend of mine built my computer, and he suggested to just run any type of anti-virus scanning equipment you have. That's the only thing you can do without erasing parts of your hard drive.

every one so far is wrong... first off...it is a trojan virus that will write it self as a windows key... what you need to do is go out and get something like macafee and install it... that will not kill the virus... but more of tell you what files are infected and what type of trojan it is... then GOOGLE what TYPE of trojan it is and follow he removal procedures... do NOT send any e-mails to any one or you just screwed them as well...

i don't know about as far as trojans go, but it saved my ass once when i got a virus of some sort that would just open up all sorts of ads on its own, i'd come home and my computer would have open like 40 IE windows with just CRAP on them, did the restore, and good as new! i'm sure it pry wasn't a trojan, it was too easy to get rid of :P

oh, and also, do NOT open the belly of the trojan horse thinking you'll pull a fast one on those dirty mongolians, b/c you'll just end up all covered in sweet and sour pork.

if it was a trojan it would still be on your pc... when you system restore it will rewrite itself and be on your HD still...

One of the few things that will work....

    http://www.lavasoftusa.com
Download the new version Ad-ware 2007, install update and run a full system scan.

After doing that, download and install crap cleaner..

    http://www.ccleaner.com
install on the left hand side you will see Issues, scan and fix all issues, if your system is still flustering, feel free to get with me, i'll walk you through how to get rid of it manually.

BTW Both programs are free to use
