I have a story to tell, I myself think it is pretty shitty!!

Well about 2 years ago, I was letting a friend of mine, drive my SS. It was August and raining hard. We were driving down the beltline, and all of a sudden we were spinning out, hardcore, (car was fishtailing everywhere) My car ended up hitting some concrete (minimal damage) but the story is, my insurance company (American Family Insurance) wanted to put aftermarket hood, fender, quarter panel on my car. After about 1 week of arguring, I finally got my way (damn strait). All GM parts, not much to the story but this, don't take no for an answer. The insurence company will most likely try to fuck you in any way they can. Hold your own. Not only did I get GM parts but I had shit fixed (paint chips) that were not even from the accident. Do NOT LET PEOPLE TAKE ADDVANDAGE

they are the biggest Men I have ever seen. I
    wouldn't want to fight them!

Me: That is why no one will remember your name!

    My life is a
    Ben Stiller movie.

he didn't take advantage at all. he just made sure he got what was right. as far as the paint chips, i think he's talking about the fact that they had to repaint a couple of extra panels to make it all blend correctly.

With damage to the front and back, they did have to blend quite a bit. They took some dents out and everything. This wasn't the insurence company thought, I took my car to one of the best body shops on the planet in my book. I believe they have like a 250,000 dollar booth set up. Did a hell of a job.

You simply described what insurance companies do. If they paid every claim off and the requested value right up front they would be raped.

    Nevertheless, it is annoying.

My home was hit by lightning about eight years ago. It blew out the circuit panel, tv, stereo, hot water heater... We had full replacement cost insurance. They offered to pay roughly half of the estimated replacement cost at first. Then they dragged their feet for quite awhile before tuning down my request a second time (hoping I would back off and settle).

The third time I informed them their next contact would be from a lawyer and I provided his contact information should they decide to continue our disagreement.

I received payment in full within two weeks.

Acually It really was MY friend. My car handles decent in the rain thank god for GS-D3's, but we were caught in it while away from home. The problem was that the construction work that was being done on the road left a 2 ft puddle. Car hit it we went for a ride. Spun about 150 ft. Friend paided for half the deductible, I paid for the other half, knowing if I would have hit it, the same shit would have happened. Thank god the CAI didn't suck any water up or it would be game over for the LS1.

I just wanted to see what kind of responses would come back.

I agree you got fair treatment, and since you had to fight a little, it is great.
Most body shops will treat a customer right that A - has a nice ride
or B - is respectful and knowledgeable.

I had to have a truck repaired and the guy did it within the amount the company was paying, so I had to pay no deductable ($100) and he fixed my Bumber I jacked up!!!

    So I am no different!!

DR's with mileage on them get pretty dangerous. I got caught out in a pop up shower a couple of years ago ( only time the car has been rained on in maybe 3-4 years) and was cruising @55 and the rain had just started. Out of nowhere the ass end just went out from under it. I wrestled it back straight and slowed down to ~35 and creeped back home. That was on Nitto's with maybe 8k on them. That won't be happening again. It took several minutes before I had gathered myself together to check my pants. I didn't shit in them but at the very least I had a turtle head.

I use to hate the old Eagle F1, they don't know the meaning of the word traction. Haven't tryed DR's but the GSD3's are sweet, when new and when not hitting small rivers.
