Don't get me wrong, my 99 is a 6 speed w/ factory hurst short throw, but my friend who had an 02 ss slp in som with auto (1 of four made in that combo) who had spina bifida (sp?) needed the auto,and Ill tell ya what, damn could that thing move out (try driving one of our cars w/ hand controls, def wierd) and he was in a wheel chair. And my 73 type LT had the factory his and hers ratchet shifter. Auto cars can be somewhat less thrilling, or they can be just as fun. Depends on the setup.

Yes. a few years ago my old man had a '80 malibu that was streetable as shit and went 12.00 with a TH350 . it was cool and all, just because it had a nasty as hell built balanced small block, but boring. that motor was NASTY dont know if i can exaggerate it any more
