Most of the time I make smart ass remarks and wise cracks just to entertain myself. Had one this morning. My wife sent me a text that said " I was thinking for our anniversary we could take the kids to papa's for the weekend and go to Niagra Falls for a couple of days." I replied " Depending on when it is that sounds like fun."

My boyfriend does the same thing haha. I texted him last week to make sure he's coming to dinner at my mother's the same time as his parents, and he goes "Well... I do have another date earlier in the day, but it should be done early." haha.

yep.....he gets it too. A joke like that isn't about amusing you.......it's about amusing him. He knows you're not going to find it funny but at some point decided him laughing was worth it. My dad was the master at this kinda shit. Him and my mom were in the kitchen many many years ago and both turned around at the same time. He had a butcher knife in his hand and it was pointing right at mom's stomach. She said "Good luck explaining the stab wound to the police." and laughed. He said " It's the other 3 that I'm worried about explaining."

Oh I give it right back to him, and he enjoys it I think. We have a very similar sense of humor so it's all fun and games.

Just the other day we were texting back and fourth and I thanked him for teaching me all that he has taught me about cars and such, and go (he's a bit older than me, just so this makes sense haha) "I knew I could learn something by dating a wise old man." hahaha.
